George Neal Bryant Jr, age 76 of Decherd, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Highpoint Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on January 16, 1950, to the late George and Christine (Saylor) Bryant Sr. He served his country in the United States Army. Before his retirement, George worked as a boiler maker with Union Hall 454. He enjoyed watching NHRA drag racing, as well as cheering for the Tennessee Vols. He could fix or build just about anything and enjoyed doing it. Family always came first to George, cherishing the time spent with his beloved family, especially when he was able to grill out with them. George never passed up the chance to eat at a good buffet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, J.G. Bryant and Marie Colwell. George is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Goff) Bryant; children, Greg (Jana) Bryant and Amanda (Steve) Mallard; and grandchildren, Gavin and Justin Bryant. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Mt. Garner Cemetery with Pastor Jim Thomas officiating.
