Photo of Lynda Carol Mayfield  Lynda Carol Mayfield, age 81, of Russellville, passed away on April 6, 2026 at her home. She was born on January 12, 1945, to Jack and Marie Porter. Lynda loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment with those she loved. She worked at Wagon Wheel in Russellville for over 40 years as a fashion stylist. Lynda took great pride in caring for her clients and helping them plan their outfits for special occasions. She was active in the study groups at First Methodist Church in Russellville. Lynda believed strongly in God and faithfully read her Bible. She was a beautiful, kind, and independent soul who was loved and will be missed by many. Visitation will be Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Russellville, Alabama, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery near East Franklin. Brother Toby Chastain will officiate. Lynda is survived by her sister, Lauranne (Mark) James; nephew, Porter James (fiancée, Karlie Moore); a host of cousins and friends; and special friends, Betty Webb and Debbie Barnes Pounders, who were like sisters to her. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Porter; mother, Marie Porter; brother, Tim Porter; and nephew, Brad Porter. Memories and condolences can be shared at akinsfh.com.
