Gary Randall Kambhampati Profile Photo Gary Randall Kambhampati of Hazel Green, Alabama passed away on Friday. He was 43.

Randy spent his early years living in California, Florida, Alabama, and Utah. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years as an Ammunition Supply Specialist. During his military career, he was deployed to Iraq and served there for 12 months. He took great pride in his service to his country.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Malcolm Sumerlin, Jessie Mae Sumerlin, Pushpa (Sastry) Kambhampati; his uncles, Gary Duane Sumerlin and Malcolm Wayne Sumerlin, and several other family members.

Surviving family members include his children: Jonathen Le’Roy Kambhampati, Melissa Louise Kambhampati, and Ishmael Marcello Toro; his wife of 18 years, Jennifer Kambhampati; his loving parents, Susan Melissa Sumerlin and her husband who he called “Pops”, Chuck “Doc” Patten; his father, Subbu Kambhampati; his brother, Geoff Kambhampati (Sophia); his nephew, Aiden Kambhampati; his aunt, Shirley Akins Watkins (Cecil), along with several cousins and other family members.

There will be a Celebration of Life service with military honors on Saturday at 4pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends at 2:30pm.

Randy will be remembered for his love for others, his patriotism in serving his country, and most of all, for being a proud and devoted father.
