Mary Ellen Bridges, 89, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at Merrill Gardens. Mrs. Bridges was born on September 30th, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Harold and Ruby (Hill) Murphy.
Mrs. Bridges is survived by sons, Jeffery S. Bridges, Claude S. Bridges III (Fredia), and Phillip S. Bridges (Jan), and Matthew S. Bridges; grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Emily, Claude Bridges IV (Scott), Rachel, Rebecca, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Anslee Rodgers, Asa Rodgers, Etta Daisy Rodgers, Opal Rodgers, Emery Ortiz, Violet Ortiz, Silas Ortiz, Eliza Bridges, Mabel Bridges, Bryson Stockman, Elijah Stockman, Esther Stockman, Josiah Stockman, Abigail Stockman, Lilah Smith, and Levi Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bridges, Jr.; brothers, Harold Murphy and James Hill Murphy (Karen); and sisters, Patricia Joy Gould and Jane Ann Scobey (Bill).
Funeral services for Mrs. Bridges will be Monday, April 6th, 2026, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Mike Allison officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memory Gardens, in Savannah, TN. A graveside service will be held Monday, at 2:30 p.m. in Savannah.
