This obituary was beautifully written by the family:
Elizabeth “Lisa” Nell Skelton, age 54, passed away on March 27, 2026. Her family is heartbroken by her sudden passing, yet we find comfort in the hope of the Resurrection and the unshakable truth that Lisa belonged to the Lord. She is now at peace, running on streets of gold, fully restored in her new, eternal body in the presence of her Savior. Lisa was a beloved daughter, a cherished mother, a dear sister, and a loving aunt. Proceeded in death by her brother-in-law Daryl Dorough, Aunt Alice Juanita Perry, Linda Joyce Green, and grandparents. She is survived by her daughter, Annaliese, parents, Nell and Buddy Skelton; her sisters, Becky Dorough and Elaine Scott (husband, Joe Scott); and her treasured nieces and nephews, Makenzie, Kaleb, Kobe, and Quintin. She also leaves behind countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will hold her memory dear. We choose to hold fast to the promises of Scripture, which remind us that even in our deepest grief, the Lord is near: ”Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.’” (John 11:25) Though we mourn, we hold onto the hope of glory, where “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) Lisa lived her life anchored in the truth of Romans 14:8: “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.” As we process this time of great sorrow, we cling to the words of the Savior: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1) Memories and condolences may be shared at moultonheritagefh.com
