James Robert Easterwood, affectionately known as “Jukebox” for his passion for billiards, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Albertville Nursing and Rehab. He was 75 years old. James was born May 31, 1951 in Cullman County, Alabama, the son of Claude Allen Easterwood and Margaret Helen James Easterwood. James was married to Margaret Carol Henry Easterwood, who preceded him in death on July 30, 2025.
He was a man of many interests, enjoying fishing, poker, and spending time with friends and family. His love for billiards earned him his memorable nickname and brought him amusement. James was a dedicated worker, serving as a building contractor and carpenter. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran who served his country with courage and commitment in Vietnam.
James is survived by his son, Jay Wesley Henry; grandchildren, Krystal Harrell (Stephen), Derek Hatley (Morgan), Meisha Hayes, and Tanner Henry; great grandchildren, Emma Tarwater, Iziik Harrell, Sawyer Harrell and Hagen Hatley; brother, Tom Easterwood (Rae); sisters, Cecelia McBrayer (Donnie) and Iva Patterson; and brother-in-law, Edwin White.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Easterwood; daughter, Amy Easterwood Hatley; brothers, Mark Easterwood and Charles “Charlie” Easterwood; sister, Priscilla Sue White.
Services for James will be with Military Honors Saturday, April 4, 2026. Visitation will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel at 10:00am with the funeral service immediately following at 12:00 noon. Brother Ronald Earwood will officiate. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Harrell, Tanner Henry, Jonathan Baty, Caleb Steadham, Ezekiel McBrayer and Ronnie White. US Army Honors Team will play Taps, fold and present the flag. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting with arrangements.
