Owen Wesley Lloyd, age 69, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at Athens Health and Rehabilitation. Owen was born in Athens, Alabama, on August 2nd, 1956, to Andrew “Owen” and Margaret Lloyd.
Owen is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Lloyd; mother, Martha Lloyd; sister-in-law, Elaine Barnes (Johnnie P. Barnes); Nephew, Sean Lloyd; and his Miniature Fox Terrier, Izzy.
Owen is preceded in death by his father, Andrew “Owen” Lloyd; mother, Margaret Lloyd and many beloved pets.
A visitation for Owen will be held on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Donald Terry officiating. Burial will take place in Athens City Cemetery.
Owen loved people, he opened Lloyd Dental Lab in Athens, Alabama, in 1985 so he could help people smile! Owen also took pride in being one of the first babies to be born in the new Athens Hospital. He is described as a tender-hearted person and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
