James Edward “Buddy” Reed, 86 of West Jefferson, passed away Sunday March 29, 26 at his residence.
Mr. Reed was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired from ACIPCO, after many years working in the No. 1 Machine shop. He was a lifelong Alabama fan. He was a member of the Good Timers Camping Association and loved to Square dance.
He was preceded in death by his wife Caroll Reed; son, Keith Reed; grandson, Dalton Sanders, his parents, Carl and Lucille Reed, and his sisters, Dorothy Waldrop, Frances Davis and Shirley Scott.
Survivors include his daughter, Crystal Sanders and husband Randall; grandchildren, Ian Sanders, Zachary Reed (Emilie), Kayla Reed (Daniel Swearengin), and Lydia Gallops; great grandchildren, Jaxon Sanders, Andrew Gallops and Jordan Gallops; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday April 3, 26 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Gene Cok will officiate. Burial will follow at Shanghi Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 1-2 pm.
