Peggy "Anoree" Self Lowery Robert “Bob” Paul Lowery, and Peggy “Anoree” Self Lowery, of Snellville, GA, passed away peacefully with family by their side. Bob, March 7th, at the age of 86, and four days later, Anoree, March 11th, at the age of 81.

They are survived by daughter Shannon Lowery Kerpics, son-in-law Jeffrey Kerpics, and two granddaughters, Zoe Kerpics and Ava Kerpics of Lawrenceville, GA. Bob is also survived by Billy Wayne Lowery of Trussville, AL, and preceded by the death of his parents, Paul Hollis Lowery and Lena Mae Chance Lowery, both of Sandusky, AL.

Anoree was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and is also survived by her sisters, Marilyn Jones of Birmingham, AL, and Sheila Hassenfuss of Cullman, AL, and preceded in death by her brother, Elzie Doyle Self Jr. and parents Elzie Doyle Self Sr. and Margaret Reno Self, all of Sandusky, AL.

They loved going to the beach, especially Amelia Island, FL, to Stone Mountain Park, GA, and to Smith Lake in AL. Anoree loved looking for unique seashells and walking on the beach and she helped Bob with flying his kites. He would also sit on the beach and just enjoy the breeze, or watch the sunrise or sunset. They loved the clogging community and all the friends they gained throughout the many years that they supported Shannon’s dancing. Anoree could always be found behind the video camera at every workshop and competition, and was well known for sewing the extraordinarily beautiful costumes for the Dixie Land Dolls, mostly constructed from Shannon’s “vision” and drawn into existence. Bob was always running around conventions selling T-shirts, and helping to secure “the groceries”, code name for money. Bob was a beloved father, and “Papa” to his granddaughters. He loved to read and was called “PapaBook” by them as well, due to his time reading with them when they were younger, and his extensive book collection. His wit and sly smile and ability to tell a great story were life-long remembrances for all those who knew him and loved him.

As everyone knew, Anoree’s favorite color was lavender and her joy was to sing in church, and is well known for her crystal clear soprano voice. She spent many years singing with her two sisters and brother from AL, at many family events. She enjoyed flowers and planting, and her back deck was beautiful every year. She was well known for her captivating smile and intense energy.
