Charles William LaVeck, Jr., age 88, of Hermitage, TN, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A private family service was conducted on Monday, August 10, 2026 in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, in Springfield, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Mr. LaVeck was born February 26, 1938, in Zanesville, OH, to the late Charles William LaVeck, Sr. and Marion Evans LaVeck. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked in the adhesive and chemical manufacturing industry most of his life, was a licensed Real Estate Agent, a Sunday School Teacher and Chairman of the Deacons at his church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. LaVeck was preceded in death by a son, Charles William LaVeck, III; and sisters, Mary Lou Cobb and Becky Reese.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha Ann LaVeck; son, Kirk (Rebecca Ann) LaVeck; 3 grandchildren, Jessica (Grant) Herndon, Kendra Perry and her fiancé Alex Shaffer and Nina LaVeck; and several great grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of these arrangements.
