Michael Joe Hendrik, 59, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 19, 2026. He was born in Lubbock, TX on June 23, 1966 to the late Larry Joe Hendrik and Judy Carol Trimm. Michael was a graduate of Nettleton High School. At a young age he began working at the sawmill and later in the area furniture industry. For the last 25 years Michael worked for himself doing maintenance on swimming pools. He loved being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, raising chickens and goats and gardening. Michael was an avid Alabama Football fan and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Generous and one to never meet a stranger, Michael was a constant friend to many and would give you the shirt from his back. He loved his family, especially his son and daughters.
Michael is survived by his step mother, Margaret Hendrik; son, John Michael Hendrik; daughters, Anna Hendrik (Justin) and April Hendrik (Brooke); sisters, Kim Hendrik and Kelly Jernigan (Tim); uncle, Jimmy Hendrik; longtime close friends, Jeff Brown, Donna Ray and Chris Sawyer; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Tammy Whitten Hendrik.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Buck Hester officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from noon until 2 PM.
