FLORENCE-City Government had some special guests on Tuesday, as students from Florence High School and Shoals Christian School took part in the 2026 Youth in Government Day.
For a day, students stepped into the world of local government, asking thoughtful questions, sharing their ideas, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at how decisions are made for our community. From learning a little Florence history to jumping into an interactive council-style discussion, they stayed curious, engaged, and not shy about speaking up.
A big thank you to the Florence Exchange Club for their generosity and continued support of this program. We are also grateful to the teachers and school leaders who help make this experience possible for our students each year.
It was a fun and inspiring day, and if this group is any indication, the future of Florence is in very good hands.
