Jerry Wade Williams, 90, of New Hope, passed away Tuesday in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a great man with a dry sense of humor, a loving husband, father of three daughters, and well loved by his family. He was a US Air Force veteran and later retired from AT&T in Phoenix, AZ. After his retirement, he moved back to his home state of Alabama and settled on Grant Mountain with his wife.
He was the oldest of eight children and was preceded in death by his parents Willie Bell and Verna Vee Williams, his three brothers; Mickey, Dewey and Franky Williams, and his sister Marsha Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Williams, brothers Clayburn and Larry Williams, sister Gayle Martin, daughters Shyrlene Moore, Laurie Callahan and Traci Sowersby, six Grand-Children; Taylor Moore, Marah Callahan, Meghan Mehl, Nathan Sowersby, Raelynne Moran and Ethan Sowersby, and six Great Grand-Children; Andreea and Shelby Sowersby, Elijah and Evelina Mehl, Adelynne and Bear Moran, and many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the Floyd E Tut Fann VA home staff who lovingly took care of him in his last year of life.
The family will have a private burial at Brown Cemetery on Friday February 20th at noon. There will be no formal service at the grave site.
The family of Jerry Williams wishes to honor his life by remembering his 90th birthday gathering with all of his family and friends as his Celebration of Life.
