Donald Edward Norris, Sr. 82, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026. Don was born in Morton, MS on June 3, 1943, to Zephaniah and Alta Hales Norris. He was raised in Polkville, MS. Don attended Mississippi State University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1966. He moved to Huntsville that same year and began work for Brown Engineering, now known as Teledyne Brown. In 1970, he took a job with SpaceCraft, now known as Sanmina SCI. He worked at SCI for 36 years.
Don enjoyed gardening, sharing his vegetables with neighbors, and attending Bluegrass music festivals.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Cornett Norris; his two sons, Donald Jr and wife Melissa, and Jonathan and wife Amy; three grandchildren, Jon Robert, Abby, and Beau; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Zephaniah and Alta Norris, and his brother, Marcus “Bill” Norris.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Southeast Nazarene Church on February 21, 2026. Visitation will be at 1:00 and the service will begin at 2:00. Pastor Byron Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Southeast Nazarene Church.
