Ladye Carol Wales, aged 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Athens. Born on January 16th, 1946, she was the beloved daughter of Clyde Meadows and Ladye Jo White Meadows.
Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Harold Wales. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son Mark Wales, daughter Beth Wales, and cherished grandchildren Logan Moody, Luke Wales, and Lauren Wales Agnew. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Paxton and Oliver Moody, and Raven Agnew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ladye Meadows, and her son, Jeff Wales.
Family, friends, and all who knew her are invited to celebrate her life at the visitation on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026. It will be held from 12:00 to 1:45 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Tee Jackson. Carol will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery, with Logan Moody, Tim Anerton, Mark Wales, Troy Chambers, Sonny Meadows, and Randy Price as pallbearers, and Shawn Agnew and Harris Anerton as honorary pallbearer.
Ladye Carol Wales was a remarkable woman, adored by all who had the fortune to know her. Her kindness, grace, and warmth touched the lives of many. She will be profoundly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
