Charlie Wayne Swords, 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. He was born on March 22, 1962, in Pontotoc, MS, to Charlie Keith and Bonnie Faye Whitehead Swords.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Webb Swords; his mother, Bonnie Swords; his son, Ryan Thompson (Necole); his grandson, Landen Thompson, lovingly called “Little Man,” and his granddaughter, Lexie Thompson, affectionately known as “Pooter Scoot”; his brother, James (Dugan); his four sisters, Brenda (Richard), Margaret, Lisa Carol, and Stacy (Reuban); as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Keith Swords.
A funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Harmony Baptist Church, led by Bro. Mike Reeves and Bro. Stark Aldridge. Visitation will start at 11 AM and continue until the service begins, with burial to follow at Harmony Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Paul Matthews, Allen Mathews, Johnny Burchfield, Keith Mahan, Jonathan Mahan, and Tracey Clayton.
