Deborah Pence Fowler, age 70, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in New Hope, Alabama. Born on July 16, 1955, in the same close-knit town of New Hope, Deborah spent her life rooted in the community she loved. A graduate of Calhoun Community College, Deborah earned her Registered Nurse certification in 1992. Her career in nursing reflected her deep compassion and unwavering dedication to caring for others. Whether tending to patients or offering a listening ear to those in need, Deborah’s nurturing spirit touched countless lives. Deborah was a woman of many passions. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-walking, gardening, and cooking. Her love for horseback riding and traveling spoke to her adventurous heart, and she embraced the freedom of the open road with pride as she rode her Harley. Her home was a reflection of her warmth and creativity-a place filled with beauty and comfort. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Deborah loved God deeply, read her Bible daily, and faithfully attended church. Her spiritual devotion guided her actions and inspired those around her. Deborah’s greatest joy came from her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Dewayne Fowler; daughters Valerie (Joe) Moon, Lashawnda Smith, Brittney (Matthew) Tonkinson, and Elizabeth (Joel) Rowland; son Dustin (Ashley) Davis; grandchildren Courtney Moon, Aimee Carroll, Joseph Smith, Kanndra Pierce, Bryan Tonkinson, Lanndon Davis, Addisyn Davis, Roo Rowland, Roman Rowland, and Rayne Rowland; and great-grandchildren JD and Josie Smith.She also leaves behind her sisters Regina Chisholm and Tammy Cagle; brother Gary Pence; and father-in-law Wayne Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Wiley Olen Pence and Mary Ann Pence, as well as her mother-in-law Mary Sloan Fowler.
Deborah’s legacy is one of love-love for God, for family, for life’s adventures big and small. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and cherished her.
Visitation will be Saturday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at Cedar Point Baptist Church, Sunday at 1:00 PM with Bro. Tim Harper officiating.
Interment will be in Kennamer Cemetery.
