Charlie Mitchell, 72, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away at Athens Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Charlie was born on Wednesday, July 15, 1953, to the late Mr. Joseph Bunyan Mitchell and Mrs. Rozetty Randolph Mitchell in Limestone County, Alabama.
He spent all of his life in Ardmore, Alabama where he was of the Church of Christ faith.
Charlie is preceded in death by both of his parents, one son, Johnny Wade Johnson, two brothers: Frank Mitchell, Larry Mitchell, two sisters: Bertha Lee Paulson, Exie Maddox.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Mitchell, five sons: Ricky (Wanda) Johnson, Tommy (Sherry) Johnson, Donald Ray (Christine) Johnson, Davin Mitchell, and Christopher (Angela) Mitchell, two daughters: Christie Howard, Penny (David) Massingill, three brothers: Gordon (Jan) Mitchell, David (Peggy) Mitchell, Joe (Penny) Mitchell, four sisters: Emmie Lane, Cindy “Polly” Hasting, Rosemary (Jerry) Poole, Dorothy (Matt) Musaenski, many grandchildren as well as great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00PM. Funeral Service will be held in at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, 2026, with service time beginning a t3:00 PM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Gatlin Cemetery located in Ardmore, Alabama.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
