James Edward King, 97, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away at Elk River Health & Nursing Care Center in Ardmore, Tennessee on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
James was born on Saturday, November 24,1928, to the late Mr. Arthur King and Mrs. Nellie Faulkner King in Ardmore, Alabama. He spent all of his life in Ardmore.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Elois Hastings King, as well as both of his parents.
He is survived by his daughter: Jami Freeman, two grandchildren: Miranda (Jon) Long, and Dalton Rodgers, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at Gatlin Cemetery located in Ardmore, Alabama on Saturday, January 17, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
