The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about jail-related scams targeting families of recently incarcerated individuals

LIMESTONE COUNTY-The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department has received reports of scammers calling or messaging family members and demanding payment for things like bail processing, GPS monitoring, or drug rehabilitation programs. These scammers often pressure victims to send money quickly using apps such as CashApp, Venmo, Apple Cash, or similar platforms.
 Please know:
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office does NOT request payment for bail, GPS monitoring, rehabilitation services, or any jail-related process by phone, text, or payment apps.
 If you receive one of these calls or messages:
• Do NOT send money
• Stop communication immediately
