FLORENCE— JPMorgan Chase & Co. announced the opening of its newest Chase Bank branch in Florence, Alabama, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to community-centered banking and long-term economic growth in the Shoals region.
The new branch, located on Cox Creek Parkway, is now opened and led by Emmanuel Joshua Turner, Vice President and Branch Manager, a Florence native whose professional journey—and family roots—are deeply woven into the fabric of the community.
For Turner, the opening represents far more than a career milestone.
“Florence is where my values were shaped—through family, faith, and community,” Turner said. “To return home and serve this city as a Vice President and Branch Manager with Chase is truly a full-circle moment, both professionally and personally.”
Raised in Florence, Turner credits early experiences through church and community involvement for instilling confidence, discipline, and a passion for working with people. As a young boy, he participated in youth fundraisers that required approaching strangers and building trust—lessons he says laid the foundation for his leadership style today.
As a teenager, a visit to a local Florence bank with his father left a lasting impression.
“I remember being struck by the professionalism—the way people carried themselves, the sense of purpose,” Turner recalled. “I knew then that banking could bring together professionalism, service, and community in a powerful way.”
That early vision ultimately became a career. After a pivotal encounter with a mentor who encouraged him to pursue banking, Turner launched a professional journey that has spanned more than a decade of growth and leadership within the financial services industry.
Today, Turner serves not only as a senior banking leader, but also as a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Valerie Turner, made the intentional decision to build their life in Florence, where they are raising their three daughters—Gabrielle, McKenzie, and Kyla Grace.
“Choosing Florence as home was never a question for us,” Turner said. “This is where we wanted to raise our children, teach them the value of community, and show them what it looks like to invest back into the place that invests in you.”
Turner also emphasized the importance of family, mentors, educators, and community leaders who supported his journey.
“This moment belongs to my parents, my family, and the countless mentors, teachers, and leaders who poured into me along the way,” he said. “It truly took a village.”
Under Turner’s leadership, the Florence Chase Bank branch will offer a full suite of personal and business banking services, delivered by a local team committed to relationship-driven service and community involvement.
“Our goal is to be more than a bank,” Turner said. “We are here to build relationships, support local growth, and walk alongside this community as neighbors and partners.”
Turner hopes the branch’s opening—and his own journey—will inspire young people across Florence and the Shoals.
“I want young boys and girls to see that you don’t have to leave home to build a meaningful, professional career,” he said. “You can grow, lead, and thrive right here.”
As Chase Bank opens its doors in Florence, Turner stands alongside his family and team with a sense of gratitude and purpose.
“Florence raised me,” he said. “Now it’s an honor to serve this community—with my family, my team, and a deep commitment to its future.”
