Mitchell Wade Dorsett, 14, of Fort Payne, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025. Mitchell loved the outdoors, especially hiking and camping. He was a member of the Fort Payne 8th grade basketball team.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 23rd at Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Marshall Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Marine Corp Toys for Tots, detachment 1404.
He is survived by his mother Candace Hairston Dorsett; father Tony Dorsett; sisters Oliva Mae Dorsett and Maegan Bailey; brothers Coleman Drew Dorsett and Noah Glenn Dorsett; grandparents Andy Hairston, Myra Brown and husband Phillip, and Greg Dorsett; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Donna Hairston.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of services.
