Nellie Moody Blackwood, 81 of Blountsville passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born August 16, 1944, the daughter of Earl Talley and Vicey White Talley.
She is survived by her husband: Orval Blackwood; children: Sheila Edwards, William Moody (Eman) and Lisha Land (Johnny); grandchildren: MeLissa Sims Smith (Bobby), Justina Dorning (Adam), Emily Moody, Mackenzie Tekulve (Hunter) and Ann Marie Land; great grandchildren: Kylie Sims, Jayse Moody and Archer Tekulve; brothers: Homer Talley and Ray Talley; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Raymond Moody, parents: Earl & Vicey Talley, siblings: Grady Talley, Delbert Talley, Mac Talley, Louise Cosby, Joyce Callahan, Lucille Talley and one infant.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Roswell Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Eric Stone officiating. The burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday at Roswell Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers: Les Shedd, Bobby Smith, James Callahan, Johnny Land, Keith Meade and Tony Moody. Honorary Pallbearer: Adam Moody.
