James Allen “Jimmy” Newman, age 85 of Decatur, passed away on November 1, 2025, at his residence. Mr. Newman was born on October 12, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and Mildred Zilisch Newman. Jimmy was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Gideons International.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Newman; parents George and Mildred. Jimmy is survived by his wife Nancy Gushke Newman; children, Linda (Troy) Dugger, Lisa (Charlie) Daniel and Donna (Greg) Norrad; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; siblings, Ken Newman, Karen, and Debbie (Blaine) Tornow; a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Decatur Brown Service Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Meeks and Brother Dedrick Bradford officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
