Mrs. Virgie Mae Fowler (nee Childers),  of Rock Creek,  passed away on the evening of November 30, 2025 after our Lord had blessed us with her presence for more than 90 years.

Virgie was married to veteran and longtime civil servant John Guy Fowler for more than 65 years at the time of his passing in 2018.   Virgie was a devoted member of Blue Springs Baptist Church for most of her life where she served in many capacities, including Sunday School teacher, choir member, and regular provider of beautiful flower arrangements for church services and events.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Kelly, her son-in-law Sean Kelly, and granddaughter Caitlin Kelly; sister Joyce Latham Cook (Bob); and brother James Childers (Patty); as well as a host of other extended family members who join in mourning her passing.

In addition to her husband John, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Pauline Childers, and sisters Inez Jarrett and Imogene Estes.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle. The funeral service will be held directly after the visitation.  The procession and interment will follow at the Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens in memory of Virgie.
