John “Johnny” Joseph Walker, age 84, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on October 26, 1941, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Isabelle Wojciechowski.

Johnny is survived by the love of his life, Linda Edwards Hamlett; his daughters Kimberly (Robert) Flurry of Pensacola, Florida, and Gretchen (Barth) Robinson of Rapid City, South Dakota; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Vicki Edwards of Huntsville, Alabama; and six beloved grandchildren, Hana, Jodee, Myranda, Eryn, Amelya, and McKenzie. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Ann Ramos (Edwin) of Evansville, Indiana.

A true patriot, Johnny proudly served more than 25 years in the U.S. Army, with tours in Vietnam, Germany, and Korea. He retired with the rank of Colonel and later continued his service to the nation through his work with Radiance Technologies as a contractor and consultant.

Johnny was an avid golfer who rarely missed a weekend tee time, yet when autumn arrived, his focus turned to hunting season and time at his camp. He found joy in tending his garden and maintaining the beautiful landscaping around his home. He also had a deep and enduring love for his dogs, Ranger, Captain, and Major.

A private funeral with military honors will be held at a later date.

Johnny will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved him.
