Brenda Dyer Potts, 78, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, in Decaturville. Mrs. Potts, the widow of James Neill Potts, was born in Henderson County on May 24, 1947, to the late Alvis Blankenship and Dorothy Virginia McDaniel Blankenship. She was a retired employee of Leroy Somer and was a member of Juno Church of Christ.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her son, Brad Dyer (Mary Beth); a daughter, Tina Rhodes(Cotton); three brothers: Jim Blankenship (Faye), Larry Blankenship (Brenda), and Bobby Blankenship (Nikki); three sisters: Linda Stansbury (Steve), Minda Fesmire (Eddie), and Kathy Strohm (George); six grandchildren: Cheyene (Jerimane), Blair (Tyler), Brooke, Olivia, Braylyn, Barrett; and two great grandchildren: Kendall and Kaden. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Potts was also preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Harston; a granddaughter, Sara Kay Tidwell; and her first husband, Jerry L. Dyer.
The family will receive friends at Pafford Funeral Home on Sunday, October 19, from 12:00 PM until 4:45. Graveside services will be conducted at 5:00 PM at Lexington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
