Wyvaughn Wigley, age 85 of Fort Payne, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1940, in DeKalb County to the late Nelson & Willie Pritchett Wigley. After high school he joined the United States Army where he retired as Master Sergeant. During his service he was a Purple Heart recipient. Mr. Wigley was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the D.A.V.; he was a member of Ruhama Baptist Church, Ruhama Masonic Lodge, Alhambra Shriners, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Funeral services for Mr. Wigley will be 2 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Walkers Chapel Cemetery with military and masonic honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service. The family is accepting flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital.
He is survived by his daughters, Theresia (Richard) Pruitt and Tamara Williams; sister, Gail Garrett; grandchildren, Colby (Cassie) Wigley, Preston Williams and Sheldon Williams; one great-grandchild, Rylee Wigley; and very special friend, Belinda Abernathy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Wigley; parents; sister, Maude Mosley; and son-in-law, Michael Williams.
