Mr. James Charles Collins, Jr. age 89 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his home.
James Charles, or “J.C.” as many knew him was a local business owner for 65 years. Along with his business ventures, he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Section Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Collins; grandson, Jacob Warren; father, Rev. James Charles Collins, Sr.; mother, Eva Collins; sister, Geneva Owens; and brothers, Hilliard Collins, Bob Collins, and Wayne Collins. He is survived by his son, Charles Collins (Rhonda); daughter, Kim Warren (Mark); son, Max Collins (Ramona); grandchildren, Jeremy Collins (Amanda), Carson Collins, Collin Warren (Whitney), and Ethan Collins; great grandchildren, Carlee Middlebrooks (Zak), Wade Collins, Oakley Reynolds, Leona Collins, Legend Warren, and Lively Warren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Scottsboro Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. Duaine Griggs will officiate and Mark Warren will be singing. Pallbearers will include, Jeremy Collins, Collin Warren, Ethan Collins, Wade Collins, Oakley Reynolds, and Zak Middlebrooks. Charlie Hill, Larry Sparkman, Cecil Robertson, and Craig Fischer will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
The family would like to especially thank caregivers, Donna McIntosh and Melanie Hammons as well as the nurses and staff of Aveanna Hospice for the love and care that has been given to him and the entire family.
