Tommy Hayes age 79, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 6, 1946, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Thomas and Grace Glenn Hayes. He served in the United States Army and retired after 28 years of service. He was a member of Belfast Presbyterian Church. He was an avid University of Tennessee fan, a member of the Lewisburg Lion’s Club and the Old Car Club. He enjoyed creating beautiful artwork using the diamond art method, and many of his works can be seen around Lewisburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matt Hayes, in 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Curtis Hayes; daughter Heather Hileman (Arren) of Chapel Hill; grandchildren Hannen Hileman and Hallee Hileman; sisters, Brenda Hayes and Rita Hayes both of Lewisburg.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory, 324 W. Church St., Lewisburg, TN, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm and will continue on Thursday, October 16, 2025, until the funeral hour.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:00 am from the Chapel of London Funeral Home and Crematory with Tony Lancaster presiding. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ray Beatty, Ben Whitesell, Jerry Pruitt, Leslie Smithson, Jason Finch, and Hannen Hileman.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy McMahon, Todd Shelton, Arren Hileman, Jerry Gentry, Vernon Glover, Ronnie Dalton, Bubba Tankersley, John Ryan Curtis, Lewisburg Lions Club members and Old Car Club members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
