Helen Roberta Martin Byrd, age 80, of Huntsville, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2025.
Helen was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and caring for others. She worked faithfully at Huntsville Hospital and Associated Nursing until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Michael Byrd and his partner Linda Johnson of Orlando, Florida; granddaughter, Kayla Byrd of Mims, Florida; brothers, John Seney (Jewell) Martin Sr. of Gurley, Alabama, and Jason (Taylor) Martin of New Hope, Alabama; sister, June Bearden of New Hope, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Martin and Frances Martin, and her sisters, Dora Mae Mason and Frances Louise Thorson.
Helen will be remembered for her kindness, her strong faith, and her deep love for her family.
A graveside memorial service will be Saturday at 11am at Bethel Cemetery with Edwin Parks officiating.
