Bobby BarnesA Military Graveside Funeral service and Interment with honors, for Bobby Barnes, 94, will be Friday, October 10, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with a U.S. Army Chaplain officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnes passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at his residence.  He was born February 15, 1931, in Morgan County to Malcom Marvin Barnes and Prunie Ethel Barnes .

Mr. Barnes was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired with 23 years of service to his country.  He was involved in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Sons of the Confederate Veteran’s Camp 580 in Decatur.  After his Military Service, he worked for the Morgan County District 2.  He enjoyed working in his yard and working with his tractor.   He also was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his wife- Thelma Graber Barnes, his parents, a son- David Barnes, a daughter- Catherine Gullion, and a grandson- Anthony Taylor.

Survivors include

Sons – James Barnes and
Dennis Barnes (Paula),

Daughters – Sandra Taylor and
Vickey Locke (John),

Eleven Grandchildren,

Fourteen Great Grandchildren,

One Great Great Grandchild,

Pallbearers will be grandsons and family members.
