Wanda Kay Blankenship, 75, of Houston, TX passed away on September 1, 2025 from an extended illness. Wanda was born on October 11, 1949, to her loving parents Guy and Doreen (Pope) Blankenship in Decaturville, TN. in the back room of the drug store.
Her family moved from Lexington TN around 1959. She has lots of family in the Lexington area.
Wanda was a 32 year resident of Fort Bend County, TX. She spent much of her life as an EMT, and an Emergency Services Provider. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Guy and Doreen (Pope) Blankenship.
Wanda is survived by her sister Virginia Ann Cox, Brother in law Ervin G Cox of Monroe LA, and brother Steven Blankenship of Houston TX, and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many friends.
She will be laid to rest in the Lexington, TN Cemetery, beside her mother and father. And, close to many other relatives who have gone before her, on October 4, 2025.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
