John Thomas Bailey, 70, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, MS. He was born on September 19, 1955 in East Chicago, Indiana. John loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of Dennis First Baptist Church. He was a long haul truck driver for about 25 years and worked at Eaton Manufacturing in TN for 20 years. He was the biggest Alabama fan in the world. He loved his family dearly.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 21, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Jerry George and Bro. Robert Wood officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 21, 12-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in New Site Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He leaves behind his wife, Peggy Belue Bailey; his brothers, Nolan Bailey (Jan) and Ben Bailey; sister, Peggy Johnson; half-brothers, Dolan Bailey and Travis Bailey; step-daughters, Stephanie Humphries (Adam) and Lisa Blackard; grandchildren, Madison Fultcher, Jordan Stewart, Brody Fultcher, Nathan Humphries (Macee), Kellan Blackard and Hank Humphries and a very special sister-in-law, Delenda Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his son, Johnathan Bailey; his father, Lee Clayton Bailey; his brother, Roy Lee Slayton and grandmother, Edna Roach.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Stewart, Kellan Blackard, Hank Humphries, Edward Tucker, Kenny Hill and Ken Wagner.
