JoAnn Shelton Richey, age 83, of Albertville, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Born on June 21, 1942, to the late Otha Dean and O.E. Silas, JoAnn lived a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others.
She attended The Fellowship Church and found great joy in serving the Lord. JoAnn retired from H.D. Lee Company and later touched countless young lives through her years of providing home daycare. She was known for her loving spirit and the kindness she shared with everyone she met.
She is survived by her son, Keith Shelton; sister, Sara Terrell; Godchildren, Joleigh and Kallum Baugh; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Kerry and Doris Bryant; and her beloved golden doodle, Shadow. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Reece Richey; siblings, Gerald Silas, Melba Nixon, Wanace Silas, Billy Silas, Kay Silas, and Donnie Silas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, with Bro. Kerry Bryant and Bro. Wayne White officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4:30 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
