Carl W. Young, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his home in the Judah Community in Pontotoc County, MS. An avid bird hunter, he also enjoyed squirrel hunting and spending time with his family. Carl began his work career with the State Highway Department in Tupelo, MS, in civil engineering, and retired in 2001 from Ashland Oil.
Carl is survived by his wife, Peggy Aron Young, Children Carla Billingsley, Shelly and Joe Dodson, John Davin and Paige Day Young, grandchildren- Jacque and Harley Hall, Daniel and Alexis Dodson, Dalton and Katie Dodson, Haydon Billingsley, Charlie Young, Jude Young, Jolan Young, and Mallie Young, great grandchildren- E.J. and Joy Ella Dodson, Lyla Dodson, sister Lucille Wilson of Searcy, AR, and sister-in-law, Kathy Young of Tupelo, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Berry W. and Lois Holley Young, Siblings: Clara (Jim) Campbell, Clinton (Willie Anderson) Young, Dorthy (K.C.) Washington, Lorene (Euell) Holley, Joyce (Lake) McCharen, Kathleen (Ed) Foster, Truman Young, and Lillie (Franklin) Baker and Willie (J.F.) Dancer.
Services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2PM Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with visitation beginning at 12PM. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery.
