Mr. Roy Cecil Brown Jr. of Madison, Alabama passed away on August 7th 2025 in Huntsville Alabama. Cecil, as he was known to friends and family, was 85 years old.
Mr. Brown was the eldest son of Roy C. Brown and Rilla Cook Brown and was born on March 15, 1940 in Morgan County. Mr. Brown spent his childhood in Morgan County graduating from Ryan School. He began his career working at 3M. Shortly after his employment with 3M, Cecil was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he continued his employment with 3M where he worked for 39 years until his retirement in 2002.
Cecil was a dedicated spouse, loving father and a doting grandfather. He has always enjoyed being outside, tending to the garden and being involved in his son’s soccer games as a coach and later as a referee. Later in his career, he took up real estate sales.
He will be remembered as generous to loved ones, kind to all and someone who enjoyed making others laugh.
Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sue Brown; son, Matthew Brown; son, Marcus Brown; daughter-in-law, Emma Caroline Brown; granddaughter, Chloe Brown; grandson, Oliver Brown as well as two siblings C.L. (Becky) Brown and Shirley (Gary) Absher.
He is now reunited with his loving parents, brother Alton Brown, and sisters Gloria Sue Leeth, Maxine Cprek. Christine Reece and Joan Martin.
A visitation will be held at 1PM at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel Tuesday August 12th at 1PM followed by funeral services at 2PM. Brother Eldridge Criscoe and Brother Terry Hudson will officiate. Interment will be in Ryan Baptist Church Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Directing.
