Sherry L. Hovater, 77, of Tuscumbia, passed away July 26, 2025 quietly at home with her family by her side. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow with Bishop Paul Fox (her son-in-law) officiating. Interment will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Sherry was a member of Friendship Community Church in Sheffield. Sherry loved her walks in the park and going on vacations with her family. Sherry loved life and her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry G. Hovater. Sherry has three children Shelly Fox (Paul), Pamela Duncan (Ronnie), and Jonathan Hovater. She has five grandkids Amber Campbell Patterson (Tommy), J.T. Fox (Shawntae), Russell Duncan (Ashton), Will Duncan (Megan), Aaron Duncan (Abby), and four great-grandchildren.
The Pallbearers are John Tyler Fox, Russell Duncan, Will Duncan, Aaron Duncan, and Tommy Patterson.
The family offers special thanks to the caregivers and the staff of Compassus.
