Janice Maze, 88 of Arab passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Marshall Medical Center North. She was born January 14, 1937, in Marshall County the daughter of Donald Pierce “Joe” Blackmon and Mamie Gregory Blackmon. She was retired from Sanmina and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church. She was married to Thurman Maze who passed away in 1971. Together they owned and operated Maze Music from 1961 until his passing and she continued operating until the early 1980’s.
She is survived her sons: Anthony Maze, Timothy Maze (Sue) and Patrick Maze (Susan); seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Thurman Maze; parents: Joe and Mamie Blackmon and a sister: Louise Allen.
Graveside Service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at New Canaan Cemetery, Cullman County with Brother Greg Stone officiating, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Chase Maze, Nicholas Maze, Tyler Bright, Jathan Shelton, Jarrett Watwood and Noah Schmehl.
