FLORENCE– Keep Florence Beautiful, in partnership with Lauderdale County, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum (702 Veterans Drive) for Florence and Lauderdale County residents. This drive-thru event will run from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., or until available funds are depleted. This event is for residents only and materials will not be accepted from businesses or farms.

The event provides Florence and Lauderdale County residents a safe and responsible way to dispose of household hazardous materials that should not be placed in regular garbage collection. Items accepted include:
- Oil-based and latex paint
- Gasoline, turpentine, and paint-related materials
- Pool chemicals, household cleaners, and adhesives
- Pesticides, herbicides, and fuel additives
- Motor oil, antifreeze, aerosol cans, and batteries
- Mercury-containing items
Please note: Items not accepted include commercial or industrial waste, 55-gallon drums, ammunition, explosives, medical waste, radioactive material, or materials from businesses.
