Betty Jean McCord, 92, of Fort Payne, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 16, 1933 in DeKalb County, Alabama to the late Gordon Munroe and Eula Richards Munroe. She worked for McKeehan Hosiery for many years and was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, June 22nd at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. David McCarrell officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. hour of service.
She is survived by her children Darrell Henderson (Nancy), Gerald Henderson (Susan), Wanda Foster, and Vivian McAllister; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands James Henderson and Bob McCord, daughters Janice Henderson and Nell Simpson, granddaughter Beth Turner, her parents, and six siblings.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
