With great sadness, we share the passing of our dearly loved Christopher Randal Plattenburg, born and raised in Winchester, TN. Jesus called Chris home on June 14, 2025, in a tragic car accident. Although it was sudden and unexpected, we have peace knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We know it was Chris’ life goal to trust in the Lord with all his heart. He worked to lean not on his own understanding but to acknowledge Jesus in all his ways. Although we grieve his absence, we have assurance that we will see him again soon in Heaven.

Chris was a 2008 graduate of Franklin County High School and attended Vol State College, where he played baseball. He later graduated from Motlow State Community College in 2012, Crestwood Medical Center School of Radiology in 2014, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Radiologic Technology from Pima Medical Institute in Tuscan, AZ in 2016. He held the role of Senior Clinical Specialist with Intracept by Boston Scientific. He loved people and worked hard in his job to improve patients’ quality of life. Being the leader of his home was not a role he took lightly; he put his whole heart into everything he did.

Chris loved playing baseball, cheering on the Vols, fishing, playing golf, hunting for his next big deer, playing his guitar, singing, spoiling and loving his babies, and bringing joy to anyone in his life. We are immensely grateful for our time with Chris and will cherish all of our precious memories of him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margie Douglas. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kelsey Moreland Plattenburg, and their three children, Maddux, Henry, and Emma; his parents, Randal and Jennifer Platttenburg; his sisters, Julia (Mike) Sullivan and Bethany Plattenburg; his grandparents, Billy and Maxine Plattenburg and Bob and Susan Douglas; his nephew, Jase Sullivan; his nieces, Bayleigh Crabtree, Harper Little, and Aurora Moreland; his aunts and uncles, Jon and Anita Hand and Steve and Donna Brewer; his cousins, Sean Hand, Bryan Brewer and Kristin Brewer; his in- law’s Jacqueline Moreland and Cason Moreland; his brother-in-law, Jaymes (Lindsey) Moreland, and many other cousins and friends.

Psalms 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.”

John 5:24 “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14″But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have died.”

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, with visitation from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with a memorial service starting at 6:00pm from the chapel with Bro. Alan Roggli, Bro. Darrell Williams, and Dr. Blair Waddell officiating.
