Cretha Nell Hammond Russell, 84, of Killen, AL, passed away June 19, 2025 at her residence. Cretha was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of Killen Church of Christ. Cretha is survived by: Sons: Gary Russell (Anne) & Philip Russell Daughters: Kim Willingham (Phillip) & Missy Hester (Mark) Sister: Betty McGee (Jimmy) Grandchildren: Bethany Hunt (Wade), Ellen Helton (Jason), Zane Willingham (Mandie), Bailey Sexton (Skyler), Katie Kershaw (Russell), Molly Hester, Em Russell & Steven Russell Great grandchildren: Sophie Hunt, Lucy Hunt, Norah Helton, Emmie Willingham, Sutton Sexton, Owen Helton, Piper Willingham, Phoebe Kershaw, Benjamin Helton, Anderson Sexton, Lennon Sexton, Clara Kershaw, & Nolan Helton She was preceded in death by: Husband: James Oliver Russell Parents: James Robert Hammond & Katherine Isabel Hammond Brothers: Bill Hammond, Buford Hammond, Gerald Hammond, and Larry Hammond Sister: Dorothy Thigpen Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 12;00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Killen Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M at the church with Bro. Wade Hunt & Bro. Stan Dean officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skyler Sexton, Jason Helton, Zane Willingham, Steven Russell, Phillip Willingham, Mark Hester, & Russell Kershaw.
