Funeral service for Schela Jane Brown, 75, of Lineville, will be Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville beginning at 3:00 PM. Pastor Donnie Prichard will officiate and burial will follow at Mineral Springs Methodist Church.
Schela was a stay at home mom until her 4 kids were all in school. Then she became a substitute teacher. She also worked at Time for Me Day Care alongside her daughter Brandi. When the daycare closed, Schela began keeping a few of the daycare children in her home. Schela loved having a house filled with children. Schela was a member of Mineral Springs Methodist Church. She loved listening to gospel music and her favorite singer was Conway Twitty.
She is survived by her sister : Connie Roberson Munford; 4 children: Jamie Taylor (Corey)- Bluff Springs; Brandi Taylor (Josh)- Coldwater; Brandon Brown (Jamie)- Clairmont Springs; and Cody Brown (Katie)- Pell City. 5 grandchildren: Benjamin Taylor, Amelia Brown (Melanie); Lexi Hoffman, Brett Shierling and Eliza Brown; and one great granddaughter, Violet Garry Hoffman, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Elease Yates, Brother and Sister in Law: Duma and Elizabeth (Liz) Yates, Sister and Brother in Law: Ann “Nell” and Jimmy Morrow, Brother in Law: Dave Roberson, and husband Mike Brown.
Pallbearers will be Greg Lamberth, Logan Lamberth, Dalton Yates, Drake Yates, Michael Wayne Jordan and Nick Jordan.
Visitation will be Saturday the 21st at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:30 until 8:00.
