FLORENCE-On the night of June 11, 2025, at approximately 9:50pm, FPD Officers responded to a report of an assault at a local Mapco gas station in Florence. The investigation revealed that 39-year-old Bryan King, of Florence, entered the store and followed the victim to the drink cooler.
While inside the drink cooler, King made unwanted advances toward the victim by attempting to kiss her. When she turned

away, he grabbed her and put his hands on her body. The victim attempted to push him off of her, but was unsuccessful.
The victim immediately reported the incident, and Florence Police Department detectives launched an investigation. Based on video evidence and witness statements, Bryan King was located and taken into custody.
King has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree. He has since been released from the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
