Ricky Wayne Moore, age 68, of Valhermoso Springs, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, May 31, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. Born on December 7, 1956, in Marshall County, Alabama, Ricky was one of four beloved children of Billy Wayne Moore and Johnnie Lou Newman Moore.
Ricky shared eighteen wonderful years of marriage with Donnie Jane Mitchell, cherishing their time together as husband and wife. A dedicated truck driver by profession, he also spent years contributing to the construction industry, leaving a lasting impact through his hard work and commitment.
Ricky held steadfast to his Holiness Faith and found joy and spiritual guidance as a member of Calvary Church. A man of many talents and hobbies, he had a passion for shop woodworking, creating pieces, with his attitude of DIY (Do It Yourself), that reflected his craftsmanship and love of the trade. Ricky was also known for his deep love of community, spending countless hours with family and friends, bringing laughter and companionship to those around him.
Ricky Wayne Moore will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and faith will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Family members surviving Ricky include his wife, Donnie Jane Moore; daughters, Michelle Durden (Chad), Heather Pane (Nick), and Haley Tunstill; son, Jason Brazier; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; godchildren; Laura Tunstill (Jeremy), Jasmine Duke, Dovie Rayne Duke; sisters, Vicky Moore Thompson and Pamela Lavely.
In addition to his parents, Billy and Johnnie Lou Moore, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Moore, and his brother-in-law, Jerald Lavely.
The family has chosen to honor Ricky’s request for cremation. A Memorial Service to honor Ricky will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City. The family will receive friends and guests at a visitation from 1:00 until service begins at 2:00pm. Brother Chris Chamberlain will be officiating.
