With deep sorrow but hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the life of Charles “Chuck” Hudson Adams, who passed away on May 18, 2025, at the age of 77. Chuck loved his family. He was a husband of 56 years to the love of his life, Brenda Adams, and he was looking for “one more” kiss until his last day. Additionally, he was a father of two (four after his kids got married), Dan Adams (Jamie) and Angie Richardson (William); and a grandfather to four, Will, Hunter, Sarah Jane, and Kaitlyn. His grandchildren always made him perk up with pride and joy. He was a source of wisdom, kindness, and provided an example for his family to follow.

Chuck was a proud alum of the University of North Alabama. The friendships he made there lasted a lifetime and were held close to his heart. The “UNA group” annually blocked off their calendars to make new memories, fellowship, eat, and reminisce about the memories from year’s past.

As a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a Finance officer and was stationed in Turkey for a year. After discharge, he became a Certified Public Accountant leading to becoming a partner with the MDA Professional Group. Chuck made a career out of this work while leading the audit department. He brought integrity and excellence to his profession, earning respect and making friendships of colleagues and clients alike.

In his spare time, Chuck found joy in traveling. His priority during his travels was being accompanied by family and friends, taking the perfect picture, finding the best meals, and making new memories. When traveling wasn’t as convenient, he would take those he loved out on the boat or have them over to grill and swim. He was always ready for an adventure. If these activities weren’t enough, Chuck found a deep fulfillment in helping others. He built ramps with CASA, homes with Habitat for Humanity, took time off work to lead teenagers at “work camp,” and loved to make breakfast for his men’s group. He was a man of generosity, compassion, and action, he dedicated himself to improving the lives of others in meaningful ways.

Chuck lived an incredible life, and his love for God was at the center of everything he did. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and faith—one that will continue in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, carried by the currents of love that he so freely gave.

A visitation will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at noon, with the service to follow at 2 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Trinity United Methodist Church or ENABLE Madison County (formally CASA of Madison County).
