Clara May Jett, age 88, of Summertown, TN passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Mount Pleasant, TN. She was a native of Ethridge, TN, a babysitter, a member of the Ethridge Eastern Star, and a member of Barnesville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ester Rawdon Gwin; husband, Hilliard Carlton Jett; son, William Robert Jennings, Jr; sisters, Sara Ruth Gwin and Lillian Sue Ray; brothers, Johnny Gwin and Gene Gwin.
She is survived by her son, Kerry Mac Jennings of Summertown, TN; daughter, Edith Jennings Helton of Summertown, TN; grandchildren, Kala Garrett of Lewisburg, TN and Joanna Conley (Dalton) of Dayton, TN; great-grandchildren, Vira Garrett, Jase and Jett Conley. Those serving as pallbearers are Kala Garrett, Keith Jennings, Johnny Hartsfield, Monty Polk, Tony Gwin, and Troy Newell.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 17, 2025, with Art McCormack officiating. Interment will follow at Ethridge Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Barnesville Baptist Church.
