Samuel H. Culpepper, 84, of Curry passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his wife, daughter and special friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Josh Mayes will officiate. Burial will be Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Pinckney Baptist Church Cemetery in Union, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his Father-Ellis Carroll Culpepper, Sr.; Mother-Frances Elizabeth “Bill” Carroll Culpepper; Brother-Ellis Carroll Culpepper, Jr.; Father-in-law-Thomas Melvin Leach; Mother-in-law-Alice Byram Leach; Brother-in-law- Tommy Lee Leach.
Sam is survived by his Wife-Betty Leach Culpeper. They were married one month shy of 60 years. He is also survived by his Daughter-Dottie Sinclair; Granddaughters-Danielle Leshae Balser (Justin Crane), Crystal Lacole Sinclair (Tom Connolly); Grandson-Kevin Grey Sinclair (Savennah). He is also survived by six Great grandsons- Hayden, Malachi, Maverick, Keegan, Maddox and Silas.
Surviving him also are Brother-in-law-Douglas Leach; Sisters-in-law-Rita Tullos (Terry) and Ina Faye Nelson. A niece and four nephews are left to cherish his memory, Trisha Nelligan (Ray), Adam Tullos (Erin), Mark Nelson (Josette), Tracy Tullos (Kim) and Derek Nelson (Rachel). Special Great nieces and nephews-Kiersten, Macy, Lana, Hugo, Oscar, Rosa, Landry, Kylee, Karrington, and Bradley will fondly remember their Uncle Sam.
The family would like to thank Centerwell Home Health and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care they provided him.
