Gary Downing, 71 of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on Friday May 9, 2025, at home. Gary was born February 14, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gary was a passionate man who enjoyed working hard to provide for his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed almost anything that would have him outdoors, playing with his grandchildren, and bringing laughter to others. He played many roles in his life, such as a father and coach and he will always be remembered.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Downing; sons; David and Chris Downing; daughters, Charmeleon Downing and Wendy Blair; grandchildren, Amelia Downing, Abryna Downing, Alivia Downing, Brianne Blair, and Brielle Blair; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Uber Downing and Dorothy Claire Downing, and siblings, Carol Brodel, Nelson Downing and Kenneth Downing.
